Policy
St Clare’s Primary School will have a school uniform that provides adequate sun protection, is suitably modest, allows freedom of movement, is comfortable and durable, and purchase does not impose financial burdens on parents. The wearing of full school uniform is compulsory and we see the enforcement of this policy as a shared responsibility between home and school.

  • green striped blouse (with logo) 

  • black culottes (with logo) 

  • white uniform socks 

  • all black leather shoes or all black joggers (no coloured soles, stripes, motifs, laces)

  • broad brimmed school hat (with logo)

  • black shorts (with logo) 

  • white uniform socks

Implementation
  1. 1. During all outdoor activities school hats are to be worn. Children are not permitted to play outdoors if they do not wear their school hat. 

 

  1. 2. Children essentially need one pair of shoes that is sensible, all BLACK joggers or sandshoes (no coloured soles, stripes, motifs or laces). These shoes can be worn for the five school days. 

 

  1. 3. If a child is not in full, correct uniform, parents are asked to notify the child’s teacher or the Principal as to the reason by note, by telephone, by email or in person. 

 

  1. 4. If a child is persistently out of uniform, a uniform note will be sent home with the child citing the aspect of the uniform that requires attention. 

 

  1. 5. The following applies to the wearing of accessories:  

 

  • * MEDICAL DISCS on chains and bracelets are permitted 

  • * Facial make-up and nail polish are NOT permitted 

  • * Fashion jewellery is NOT permitted 

  • * Watches, signet rings, simple sleepers or studs (limit of one pair of earrings) are permitted 

  • * NO body piercings allowed – except for ear lobes 

  • * A religious object on chain may be worn under the uniform 

  • * Sunglasses worn outside for sun protection are an optional accessory to the uniform 

 

  1. 6. The following applies to hairstyles 

 

  • * Top of Collar length hair or longer, both genders, is to be tied back with bands or ribbons 

  • * Hairstyles are to be conservative, NO excessive hair products 

  • * NO tinting, colouring, streaking, hair extensions etc. 

  • * NO punk styles, undercuts, spikes, dreadlocks, tracks, skinheads, rat-tails etc. 

  • * Hair is to be tied back with bands or ribbons in the colours of the school – white, gold or green 

  • * Hair accessories are to be kept to a minimum and not to be worn as a fashion statement 

  • * School coloured and design approved hair accessories are available for purchase through the Qkr! App
